Going through mixed lots of 90%?

I bought some 90% a few weeks ago and was going through looking for rare dates and found a few! I was wondering if there are many people here buying mixed lots and checking dates? If so have you had alot of luck or did I just get lucky? Seems like an easy way to make a few bucks if you buy it at spot like I did and sell with a premium!

Occasionally I will sort through what I haven't. Apparently it is not worth my time as I do not find rare dates when I look. Considering the time and effort of the sort combined with the time and effort of eBay listings it would have to be a pretty rare/key/valuable find to bother, really.

I think a person's time is better spent finding a dealer who will let you pick from loose bag lots, what less wear coins you want. i.e. 63/64 Roos .10, 63/64 Wash. .25, Frank. .50 with partial horiz. lines showing on the bell on the reverse, etc.

Tip: Merc dimes - pick the ones that have a full rim on the reverse.
Tip: Walk. Lib. halves - pick the coins that show the lady's breast, and have pretty good feather detail on the reverse.
